Much of what we have anxiety about can fade into nothingness by first immersing ourselves in physical activities of martial arts. I mention martial arts, and not basketball, or baseball, because it deals with solving real life-threatening situations. If you are able to deal with that, then you more likely can deal with other difficulties of life in a more rational and calmer manner. So I suggest, first and foremost immerse yourself in a realistic and healthy martial arts training. As you train, you notice you are disconnecting yourself more and more from unrealistic expectations of life, and gaining an accurate glimpse of your own real capacity; and within that domain you would initiate a spark of self-confidence and a healthy social connection with others. As you grow during this stage, your anxiety would slowly evolve into a tangible faith------something you can touch, feel, and depend on. This faith is critical in your development and in riding yourself of the deep, inner psycho-social activities of your personal life, especially when you are alone and in psychological chaos, doubt, confusion, and depression. You will notice life is becoming more meaningful and as a result, the self or the ego gradually fades into the background. This stage can exponentially be developed, if it has a spiritual or virtue-like dimension built into it, and involves helping those who have been more unfortunate than you in general life or in training.
As anxiety in life lessens in the light of confidence, gained in training and healthy social connection; and as faith is born based on tangible results gained through physical training, then the third stage is the slow death of [the self] and entry into a sort of gradual feelings of liberation and happiness. At first it comes and goes and will not be steady at all, but as time elapses, it becomes well integrated into your behavior and grows on your character without any conscious effort. This happiness is not based on money, fame, or power, but on the discovery of your own self [in relationship] with another phenomenon, and the faith you have started to gain can sustain you the rest of the way into a gradual sense of personal liberation from things that may be holding you in a state of anxiety, fear, depression, and uncertainty.
