Fight Proficiency with Weapons

Fight Proficiency with Weapons
Many different systems of martial arts teach weapons, but rarely they teach [proficiency] or a set of practical skills that one can honestly acknowledge as relative to the present day world. The reason being that most of their rational and logical arguments are based on solutions that were meant to deal with problems of a distant past! So on the one hand, a sincere practitioner must acknowledge and respect the legitimate roots of martial arts and on the other, he or she must be detached and courageous enough to decipher outdated aspects of one's arts regardless of who the founder of that art was. Therefore the first step to proficiency is to rid oneself of the concepts, philosophies, and techniques that no longer serve any practical purpose and are meant only to be discussed on historical books and platforms and nothing else. The second thing about Fight proficiency with weapons is that it calls for a drastic change in attitude. What do I mean? Well, it's not difficult to conclude based on repeated observations that one most likely would live through a hard kick to the chest; but it's even easier to conclude that you most likely would [die] with a hard stab to the chest, especially without the intervention of medical assistance. Therefore, when you train for your proficiency in weapons, you cannot approach that field like you would with for example Muay Thai and other contact sports. The margin of error is very small in a weapons altercation. To make a mistake, or to get into a back and forth exchange of strikes with weapons is not a wise approach regardless of your abilities and attributes! So if you take home these two simple prerequisites we mentioned above, you already would be on the right path. Attending our seminars, workshop and group classes would greatly assist you on this path. Proficiency has many aspects and in this short article, we only mentioned two of them. Thank you.
